Calgary Power and Sail Squadron instructors offer boating classes at the introductory through advanced levels. Basic Boating and Safe Navigation ("the boating course") is Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons' premier course for the recreational boater and includes material and exam for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). Boating Course fee includes all course materials: course notes, reference materials, course plotter, homework book, educational CD, training chart, divider kit and exams. Cost includes homework book, training chart, divider kit and exams. Additional family members share all other course materials, reference materials and course plotter. Other courses include Piloting, Advanced Piloting, Marine Maintenance, Radio Operator (Marine), Fundamentals of Weather, GPS, Celestial Navigation, Depth Sounder, Seamanship, Extended Cruising, Electronic Charting and RADAR for Pleasurecraft. In addition, Intructor Training (IT) and Officer Training are offered to CPS members at no charge. The knowledge students receive came from volunteer instructors whose dedication to the mission of CPS was unwavering. Volunteer instructors work hard to prepare and present these courses but, at times, there aren't enough instructors to fill the need. Your Squadron's continued existence depends on the strength of the training program and at this time, your Squadron needs your help! Please consider contributing your knowledge and experience to give your Squadron the bench strength it needs.
